INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND THE MIS ENVIRONMENT SR1803
This course provides students an understanding of the challenges,
obstacles, environment, and business and technology trends faced by
global 500 MIS organizations and MIS decision makers, and their
implications to the sales process.
STUDENT PROFILE:
CSO sales representatives, sales management and PSO consultants
worldwide.

None
STUDENT PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
o Identify and describe the roles, background, and expectations of
global 500 decision makers.
o Describe the current business, and organizational trends in the
global 500 organizations and the impact of these trends on MIS.
o Identify common organizational models and associated functions.
o Describe the roles an MIS organization may take on.
o Describe the typical MIS organization's critical success factors,
obstacles, and the business implications of those obstacles.
o Define and properly use terms and concepts commonly used by MIS
professionals.
o Identify the implications of the existing mainframe MIS
environment for MIS decision makers.
o Identify and describe emerging technology trends.
